More performance data for the “slimmed down” Xbox Series X

At The Verge are further rumors about a “slimmed down” console in relation to the Xbox Series X surfaced, which was speculated several times in advance: “Xbox Lockhart”.

The leaked document, which appears to come from the Xbox Series X software developer kit (codenamed Dante), describes how you can enable a special Lockhart mode on the upcoming console to make the game compatible to test the Lockhart variant. It can be assumed that the Lockhart performance profile will roughly match the performance that Microsoft wants to achieve with the console, which has not yet been officially announced. The Verge and the sources cited assume that Xbox Lockhart will offer nearly 7.5 GB of usable RAM and approximately 4 teraflops of GPU performance (lower clock speed, fewer compute units). The pure graphics performance would be roughly on the level of a PS4 Pro. For comparison: The Xbox Series X offers 13.5 GB of usable RAM and targets 12 Teraflops GPU performance.
