More people want to get rid of a mouth mask via a doctor’s note

General practitioners are receiving more and more people who request a certificate not to have to wear a mouth mask. That writes Het Laatste Nieuws.

According to professor Dirk Devroey (VUB), some doctors are too eager to do so. ‘I don’t think hyperventilation or an anxiety disorder is a reason. I also don’t recommend it to people with heart failure or asthma, because by not wearing a mask themselves, they expose themselves to the virus, and they are already so vulnerable. ‘ Hr service providers, on the other hand, report that occupational physicians often turn to the door with questions about what to do with employees who come forward with such a certificate.
