More passengers to Leipzig/Halle and Dresden

The number of passengers at Halle/Leipzig and Dresden airports has recently increased significantly and is once again approaching the pre-Corona level.

Around 220,000 travelers landed in or took off from Halle/Leipzig airport in October, a spokesman for Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG said on Thursday. This corresponds to an increase of almost 40% compared to the same month last year. Dresden Airport even recorded a 44% increase to around 107,000 passengers.

From January to October, Halle/Leipzig Airport handled a total of almost 1.4 million passengers, 147% more than in the same period in 2021. In Dresden, around 740,000 passengers used the airport from January in October, 170% more than the previous year.

Before the pandemic, there were 2.6 million passengers at Leipzig/Halle Airport in 2019. In Dresden, the number of passengers was around 1.6 million.
