This means that a roofer journeyman has almost 70 euros more on the pay slip at the end of the month, as the industrial union Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt reports.
Bruno Walle, deputy district chairman of IG BAU Rhein-Main and Michael Groha, district chairman of IG BAU Mainfranken, speak of a “earned plus” and advise employees in the region not to be satisfied with the significantly lower industry minimum wage of 14.10 euros give. “Many roofing companies are desperately looking for staff. No skilled worker should sell himself below value and therefore insist on the collective wage, ”said the unionists. The IG BAU also refers to the good economic situation in the craft. “Driven by the construction boom and the high demand for new, climate-friendly roofs, the order books of many companies are overflowing. The master roofers are well advised to pay their employees fairly and keep them in operation, ”emphasize Walle and Groha.
