Starmer took over as British Prime Minister following his Labor Party’s victory in the general election in July after 14 years of Conservative governments. He is traveling to Brussels this Wednesday, where he will be received by, among others, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Starmer himself voted to remain in the Union in the 2016 Brexit referendum. However, a new referendum is considered impossible for the time being.
