It is the most common form of arthritis. Osteoarthritis of the knee treatment often requires major surgery and months of hospitalization. But a new device eliminates pain in some patients and helps them delay or even avoid a total knee replacement.
Dr. David Flanigan, of Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State University, says 90 percent of patients who received the device at his hospital experienced improved knee function and reduced pain.
