PORTAL, video calling platform from Facebook, now equipped with character augmented reality filters from Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.
Facebook, in a statement on their official blog, named this feature Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Curtain Call for video calls from Portal to Portal.
After clicking on Curtain Call, the user can select one of three locations, namely Hogwarts Hall, Ministry of Magic, or the Forbidden Forest. There will be a light on the Portal, after which the user will become one of the Harry Potter characters.
Portal also provides 12 characters from Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. This feature is also present on the Facebook and Instagram platforms.
As quoted from Antara, users can also cast magic spells by tapping the screen or nodding their heads.
Harry Potter characters will appear on the screen in three dimensions thanks to the Spark AR technology made by Facebook.
This technology can read the user’s skin color and blend it with the character to make it look natural.
In addition to video calls, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child characters can also be used in the Portal Photo Booth application.
