More infections almost everywhere, check the figures in your municipality

In 336 of the 355 Dutch municipalities there was an increase in the number of corona infections in the past week compared to last week. This is more than last week, when it was still 305 municipalities where the number of infections rose.


In addition, new corona infections were reported in almost all of the Netherlands in the past week. At least one new infection was found in 354 of the 355 municipalities. Schiermonnikoog is currently the only municipality in the Netherlands that is still corona-free. No infections have been reported here since the corona outbreak.

Worrying municipalities

The safety regions in the Netherlands are divided into different categories: from vigilant to worrisome and serious. A region is concerned if more than 50 positive test results per 100,000 inhabitants are reported in a week. With more than 150 infections per 100,000 inhabitants, a region goes from worrying to serious.

At municipal level, we see that the situation in 347 municipalities can be called worrisome last week. More than 50 positive test results per 100,000 inhabitants were reported here this week. In 255 municipalities there were even more than 150 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants

Most infections took place in Bladel last week. Last week, 696 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported in that municipality. This is followed by the municipalities Oostzaan (544), Tubbergen (536) and Reusel-De Mierden (480).

Amsterdam in the lead

The four largest cities in the Netherlands have the most infections in absolute terms. Amsterdam is still the leader with 3,781 new infections. After Amsterdam, the most new infections were reported this week in Rotterdam (2,839), The Hague (2,076) and Utrecht (1,525).
