The most important task on the agenda before work could even begin last Saturday was to hoist the Hagen flag on the Bismarck Tower. A clear sign that can also be seen from the Wehringhauser Tal that the viewing platform and kiosk are open.
The tower normally opens on Sundays, but February 26th was a special day, because Detlev Kura from the Bismarck Tower Friends’ Association had called for green cuttings. And he was amazed: “Never before have there been so many hard-working helpers at the tower!” A total of fourteen people were on site to give the tower its spring outfit.

And a member of the Sauerland Mountain Association (SGV) had even been cutting branches for two hours before the start of the action and had already pulled it off again.
Despite temperatures around six degrees, the group hardly felt cold, because they worked hard for a good three and a half hours to clear the area around the tower platform of undergrowth.
Anyone who would like to appraise the work has the opportunity on Sunday, March 6th: if sunshine is announced, the viewing platform and kiosk will be open from 1 p.m. to at least 4 p.m. (or as long as the Hagen flag is hoisted).
