The Ukrainian capital Kiev was again hit by explosions. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said several explosions were heard in the center. He says several residential complexes have been damaged and rescuers are on the spot.
According to the authorities, these are Russia’s attacks with so-called kamikazedrones. They carry dozens of kilos of explosives and fly to a preprogrammed target.
NOS reporter Wessel de Jong is in Kiev and says the explosions were right in the center:
“At around 05:30 Dutch time, the air-raid alarm went off,” De Jong said in a statement NOS Radio 1 News. “A few minutes later, heavy explosions followed.” He sees images of a large fire going by due to the explosions.
There were three explosions early this morning. Later explosions were heard again. Mayor Klitschko talks about two new explosions.
These are the images of the impacts this morning:

De Jong also reports that it seems that more gunshots have been fired near the central station, near a power plant.
As a result, the electricity supply in Kiev has become “a little more complicated,” he says on the radio. “People have been asked to cut spending. Kiev is quite dark at night at the moment.”
A week ago Kiev has also been hit by attacks. At least five people were killed and 51 people were injured.
