Bollenhut-Queen
The pandemic is abating and the Friends of Freiburg-Tel Aviv-Yafo have taken up an old idea. The Freiburg drag queen Betty BBQ, a member of the association, is to take part in the Tel Aviv Pride (in Freiburg: “CSD”) in June as an ambassador for Freiburg. Bollenhut and a mix of Black Forest costumes will increase Tel Aviv’s existing sympathy for the twin city of Freiburg. Especially in a time full of threats and loss, it is important to stand up for values such as respect, openness and diversity, combined with the hope of a more peaceful future that is still possible. What is still missing is adequate financial support for the ambitious project.

On May 21, the sports club and probably half of Freiburg will travel to Berlin to win the DFB Cup final there. An employee of the Sparkasse Freiburg – Nördlicher Breisgau wrote another verse of the Badner song especially for this. His employer is calling on all non-profit associations, but also private individuals in the region, to make a nice video of it and win something, from a grant to a barbecue package.
