The Fifth Guarantee Control Court sent to jail the lawyer Sergio Bazzani Afanador accused of subjecting a minor, close to his family, to improper touching in events that occurred between 2016 and 2017.
During the intervention of the togado, he pointed out that apparently the defendant has a fixation for minors, since with this case there are already three girls, apparently victims of sexual harassment by the legal professional.
The prison insurance measure was appealed by Bazzani Afanador’s defender, which, after several days, a Circuit Criminal Court will decide whether to maintain it or modify it.
The capture
On July 12, the same judicial office issued the arrest warrant against the legal professional, who was captured by servers of the Metropolitan Police of Ibagué and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Prosecutor’s Office when he left in a van from the Altamira complex, located near the Sofitel hotel.
The facts
Sergio Bazzani Afanador was presented at a virtual hearing, where he was charged by the Caivas Sectional Prosecutor’s Office 42 for the crime of aggravated violent sexual acts, a homogeneous and successive contest, which he did not accept.
In the judicial proceeding it was learned that the facts charged in this case occurred in the lawyer’s home and the residence of an aunt of the minor victim, 2016 and 2017 in Ibagué. The affected girl at the time of the events was nine years old.
Presumably, the legal professional subjected the little girl to very rapid touches with his hands, when she watched television, he took the opportunity to touch her tail, her breasts and kissed her.
After learning of the other investigation, due to similar events, the minor informed her relatives of what had happened, who in turn reported it to the Prosecutor’s Office.

During the judicial proceeding, it was recalled that before the Sixth Criminal Court of the Circuit, a judicial proceeding is pending against Sergio Bazzani Afanador for the crime of carnal access or sexual act with a person incapable of resisting and is in the oral trial stage.
The lawyer was charged on August 22, 2019 before the Seventh Guarantee Control Court for the crimes of sexual acts with a child under 14 years of age, abusive carnal access with a child under 14 years of age, violent sexual act and aggravated violent carnal access.
In this case, the facts investigated occurred in 2007, where two minors appear as victims. Supposedly, the legal professional persuaded the parents of the girls, who were close to the family, to stay at home with their children, there, apparently, he entered the room where the minors were and subjected them to touching improper. One of the minors, a victim in this case, left the country and from abroad she has been pending the process.
