61 new corona patients have arrived in the nursing wards in the past 24 hours. Eleven people were brought into the ICs. There are now 329 corona patients in the nursing ward, seven more than on Wednesday. There are now a total of 107 corona patients on the ICs, one more than the previous day.
The influx of new patients is slightly smaller on Thursday compared to the past two days. On Tuesday, the LCPS recorded the largest increase since the end of May. At that time, 20 people were brought in on the ICUs and 76 on the nursing wards.
Hospitals foresee a further increase in the coming period, as the number of corona infections has risen sharply in recent weeks. The total number of admitted corona patients is expected to rise to about 800. According to Ernst Kuipers, chairman of the National Acute Care Network (LNAZ), hospitals can handle this.
Infections
The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) has registered 6301 positive corona tests between Wednesday and Thursday morning. That is the lowest number of the past two weeks and significantly less than last Thursday, when 11,000 infections were reported.
The RIVM said on Tuesday it already saw the beginning of a stabilization and that the number of cases could start to decrease during the course of this week. Almost two weeks ago, the cabinet took measures to stop the explosive increase in the number of corona cases.
