The number of corona patients in intensive care units in hospitals in Brabant has not been as high since the first wave as it is now. The total number of corona patients in Brabant hospitals has increased by twenty percent in one week. This is evident from figures from the Regional Consultation Acute Care (ROAZ) in our province.
There are now 108 corona patients in intensive care. During the peak in the second wave there were 107. The third corona wave is now really noticeable in the figures on nursing wards of hospitals. Last week there were a total of 335 corona patients in the hospitals. Now there are 397.

The number of hospital admissions has therefore risen sharply. Last week, hospitals in Brabant admitted 292 new corona patients. A week earlier there were 243.

This is the result of rising contamination figures
A spokesman for the ROAZ calls the increase a logical consequence of the contamination figures rising for weeks. In just over a month and a half, those in our province have doubled.
