Munich (dpa/lby) – The corona pandemic is accompanied by a trend towards founding new companies in Bavaria. 99,358 companies were registered last year, more than five percent more than in 2021 and the highest number since 2013. This was announced by the Bavarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BIHK) on Tuesday in Munich.
Almost two thirds of these start-ups were small and very small businesses that were registered as part-time jobs. BIHK President Klaus Josef Lutz assumes that the pandemic even had a beneficial effect on the entrepreneurial spirit in this regard: “Last year, the widespread short-time work should have spurred this development again,” said Lutz according to the announcement.
The largest increases were therefore in the retail, services, health and social services, energy supply and manufacturing sectors.
