More Christmas markets are starting in Hamburg

Hamburg (dpa / lno) – mulled wine, almonds and handicrafts: More Christmas markets are opening in Hamburg today. After a year of forced break due to corona, the historic Roncalli Christmas market starts on the Rathausmarkt. Until December 23rd, visitors can then enjoy Christmas shopping at the stands and huts.

The Christmas market also starts at Gänsemarkt, in Harburg, Ottensen, Eppendorf, Barmbek, Bergedorf and in Hafencity. In addition, the gay and lesbian Christmas market “Winter Pride” starts in St. Georg.

The Senate had decided that the gastro areas at Christmas markets fall under the 2G rule. However, many operators generally let their Christmas markets take place under 2G conditions and check at the entrance. This means that the markets can only be visited by those who have been vaccinated or those who have recovered from the corona.
