The Netherlands has more billionaires than ever, according to the annual rich list of magazine Quote. In the Quote 500 This year there are 45 people with a wealth of one billion or more.
Heineken heir Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken remains the richest Dutch person with 13.5 billion euros. The number 2 is new: real estate entrepreneur Remon Vos (CTP) is good for 5.7 billion. He therefore has 100 million more than the number 3: Randstad founder Frits Goldschmeding.
The biggest loser in absolute numbers is John de Mol. According to Quote, the media mogul lost no less than 300 million euros last year.
Together, the 500 richest Dutch people own 219.6 billion, Quote has calculated. Making the list this year required more money than ever before. Only people with more than 110 million euros in their pocket participate.
