At the autumn political aperitif, Seon local council provided information on a number of major planned projects – including the conversion of the Seetal school building and the new construction of the fire department magazine.
Sean There are several larger projects planned in the Seetal center community in the coming months and years: the new construction of the fire station, the renovation of the soccer field and the conversion of the old Seetal school building, to name a few. The local council provided information about these projects at the autumn political aperitif on Tuesday, October 23rd.
What will happen now with the old Seetal school building?
The biggest and biggest financial item coming up at the upcoming community meeting is a possible renovation and change to the Seetal school building. A population survey showed that the Seeners definitely do not want to sell the old school building, which has been empty for years, as stated by the mayor Hans Peter Dössegger.
For the future use of the building, the local council believes that it is possible to move the local administration. To do this, the newer part of the building would have to be demolished and rebuilt, and the part that is a listed building would have to be renovated. The current administration building will be transferred to the school and the school administration.
In order to achieve the necessary administrative capacity with the new building, investments of around 13 million francs are required, as Dössegger further explained. Under the current circumstances, this would lead to an increase in the tax rate from 2026 by more than 4 percent from 108 to 112 to 113 percent.
The project is currently being reviewed as part of a feasibility study. The costs for this amount to 100,000 francs.
Fire department bulletin: Waiting for the canton
The responsible local councilor, Markus Rihner, spoke about the planned fire department magazine. At the community meeting, a construction loan of 7.12 million francs for the new building will be given to the people. However, permission from the canton of Aargau to enter and exit directly on the cantonal road is still pending. If the loan is granted and approval is granted, the corresponding building application should be submitted in January. Construction is expected to begin in summer 2025 and commissioning by autumn 2026 at the latest.
The subsequent costs, including depreciation for the new building, will be shared with the nearby community of Egliswil as a percentage of the population, as the local council confirmed in response to a question from large audience. According to the contractual agreement, there is no need to coordinate the project in Egliswil.
Children problem in swimming pool
The indoor swimming pool has been a problem child in the community for a long time. Like all other indoor swimming pools in the canton, the one in Seon is far from self-sufficient. This should now be transferred from the previous special funding to the normal income statement of the city. This means that the internal debt relationship disappears and the indoor swimming pool team can fully concentrate on the operation of the best facilities.
