The Brandenburg State Music Council, the Chamber of Crafts Frankfurt (Oder) and the organ building company Sauer from Müllrose (Oder-Spree) want to draw attention to the “Instrument of the Year 2021” with a wooden modular organ in miniature. The organ model is increasingly being used to attract young talent in schools, both for the profession of organ builder and for making music on the “queen of instruments”, said Konstanze Sander, Secretary General of the Brandenburg State Music Council.
The year-round “organ band” brings together 365 concerts: a different organ sounds every day of the year in Berlin and Brandenburg. The modular organ made by the Müllros organ building company Sauer, which can be dismantled into all its components, but can also be played, is intended as a demonstration model in schools and at apprenticeship shows. This year there are also plans for a workshop and a competition entitled “Young people composed”, in which pieces of music for the organ are to be created.
