More and more users get the WhatsApp call linking feature

Over the past few months, WhatsApp has been working on a number of new features

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp is now launching its new feature, Call Links or Call Links to more users. Over the past few months, the platform has been working on a number of new features.

Some of these include the ability to turn users into stickers, allow up to 1,024 people in group chats, and create group surveys. One of the cool and useful features is Call Link.

Quoted Sam Mobile, On Thursday (10/20/2022), the feature is now rolling out for more users around the world. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the feature last month and introduced shareable links for voice and video calls.

When you switch to the Calls tab in the WhatsApp app, you’ll see a new “Create Call Link” button pinned above the call log. After tapping the button, you will be given two options to set the call type, i.e. voice or video. Once done, you can copy the invitation link and forward it to your contacts via WhatsApp or any other sharing platform. When the recipient receives the WhatsApp call invitation link, they can tap the “Join” button and switch to the call.

Keep in mind that people can join the call whenever they want and WhatsApp won’t notify you if someone joins the call. So you need to be active in the call to know who joined the call and who didn’t.

As Android Police notes, WhatsApp treats all calls as group calls even if you only invite one person. Connected calls will have a shortcut icon for easy identification in the call log.
