More and more prick appointments after introducing mandatory corona admission ticket

The number of vaccination appointments will remain clearly higher in these weeks than before the announcement of the mandatory corona pass for catering and theaters. This is apparent from figures that NOS has requested from GGD GHOR Nederland.

More than 73,000 people made an injection appointment from Monday to Sunday; a week earlier there were 72,000. Two weeks before, the number fluctuated around 50,000.

The figures show that the number of vaccination appointments increased around the corona press conference on September 14 and prior to the introduction of the corona admission ticket on September 25.

The increased interest in a corona vaccination is also apparent from the number of people who report to the free walk-in locations of the GGDs, such as injection boxes. About 40,000 people a week used it. At the beginning of September, there were still 25,000 a week. Last Saturday, the daily figure exceeded 8,000 for the first time.

Incidentally, the figures do not yet translate into an increasing number of vaccinations. Last week, 193,000 shots were taken (of which 61,000 were first shots), less than a week earlier. In particular, the number of appointments made earlier for second injections was lower.

The GGDs now vaccinate between 20,000 and 35,000 people every day. About 80 percent of them first make an appointment for an injection, the rest walk in at free walk-in locations. Two thirds of the injections that are taken daily are second shots.
