Twenty-six possible connections

Twenty-six possible links to neighboring EPCIs from the thirteen municipalities of the Agglomeration Community have been identified. The CAPFT has already approved the construction of the first intercommunity cycle links between Illange and Bertrange (community of municipalities of Arc Mosellan, CCAM) and from Thionville to Uckange (Community of Agglomeration of Val de Fensch, CAVF). It also validated the route connecting Manom to Hettange-Grande (CCCE) and Fontoy to Knutange (CAVF). “We want to go even further in promoting the area and favor soft modes in daily travel,” recalls Bernard Veinnant, vice-president of the Thionville agglomeration community and mayor of Basse-Ham. And even if the links between the inter EPCI cycling networks are not very developed today, the context of the energy transition law requires action in this direction to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. “Networking the territory and connecting the entire north of the Moselle to Luxembourg and Germany goes with the development of the electric bicycle”, estimates Pierre Cuny, president of the CAPFT and mayor of Thionville.

First works in 2022

Discussions with neighboring towns made it possible to plan the construction of eight routes: towards the CAVF, from Chemin du Leidt towards the Breuil area – rue d’Alsace in Florange and from Beuvange to Saint-Michel in Algrange, towards the CCAM , from Kuntzig to Distroff, to the Communauté de communes du Pays-Haut-Val d’Alzette (CCPHVA), from Tressange-Bure to Ottange, from Tressange to Aumetz and from Tressange to Boulange, and towards the community of Cattenom and surroundings ( CCCE), from Thionville-Elange to Hettange-Grande and from Rochonvillers to Escherange.

A first operation concerning the installation of the Tressange-Bure links in Ottange, Algrange in Thionville-Beuvange and Rochonvillers in Escherange will be carried out from 2022 in collaboration with the EPCI partners.

Voie Bleue: towards harmonization

The development of the Voie Bleue, which is the responsibility of neighboring municipalities, requires harmonization and upgrading work to be carried out for an overall amount estimated at € 330,000 (excl. Tax). Portes de France -Thionville, will have to pay € 15,162.60 calculated in proportion to its linear.
