For every 100,000 children aged 13 to 17 years old, about 370 corona cases were diagnosed last week. The week before this was 288 per 100,000 and a week earlier at 286. In the group aged 0 to 12 years, more than 53 cases per 100,000 were registered last week, compared to about 45 in the previous weeks.
Relatively speaking, the 13 to 17 year olds are currently the largest group of corona patients. Last week, nearly 265 in 100,000 were tested positive among young adults (18 to 24 years old), and nearly 239 in 100,000 among 25 to 29 year olds.
School
Most people are not known where they contracted the corona virus. In the past week, 1,453 people tested positive (8.5 percent) did indicate that the school or daycare was the site of the infection. The week before this applied to 1,042 people (6.3 percent) and a week earlier for 865 people (4.6 percent). The figures do not distinguish between pupils, teachers and daycare workers.
The Outbreak Management Team (OMT) wants to investigate whether the Christmas holiday can be extended by one week. For example, the number of infections among young people could be reduced.
