Cancer patients, both at home and in hospital, are increasingly dealing with feelings of loneliness, fear and fatigue. That’s what UZ Leuven says. According to the hospital, patients are therefore more likely to ask themselves whether they want their treatment. “It is striking that seriously ill patients want to stop their treatment more quickly in order to go home palliatively,” says Hadi Waelkens, head of psychologists at UZ Leuven.
