Morbihan is definitely not spared from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza. While 2 cases were declared jointly in the commune of Noyal-Muzillac on October 25, this time it is in the commune of Evellys that the prefecture confirms a new HPAI outbreak. Evellys is a neighboring town of Moréac, also affected by the virus on October 23.
“Depopulation is underway. An epidemiological investigation is carried out in order to find the probable origin of the contamination,» specifies the press release from the prefecture, dated November 2, 2024.
In order to prevent the introduction of the virus into farms, the prefect of Morbihan has decided to extend the regulated protection and surveillance zone to a radius of 3 and 10 km around contaminated establishments.
The municipalities concerned within the 3 km radius around the contaminated establishments are: Moréac, Evellys, Pluméliau-Bieuzy, Réguiny.
The municipalities concerned by the 10 km zone, in addition to the 4 municipalities mentioned above, are: Bignan, Buléon, Crédin, Kerfourn, Lantillac, Locminé, Moustoir-Ac, Guénin, La Chapelle-Neuve, Noyal-Pontivy, Pleugriffet, Plumelin, Radenac, Saint-Allouestre, Saint-Thuriau.
