The ban on the sale, purchase and transport of pyrotechnic articles was instituted by a prefectural decree of December 17. It is therefore forbidden from this date and until Sunday January 3 inclusive, to use fireworks and firecrackers during this period, including during the night of New Year’s Eve which will welcome the New Year.
The ban in force is applicable throughout the Morbihan department. Its objective is to avoid gatherings and therefore Covid contamination. Increased surveillance is planned with a reinforced presence of the police and gendarmerie …

“By prefectural decree dated December 17, 2020, the sale, purchase, transfer, transport and use of fireworks, whatever the category, are prohibited in the Morbihan department of Friday December 18, 2020 at 8 a.m. to Sunday January 3, 2021 at midnight.
In accordance with the regulations in force, it is recalled that:
• the unpacking of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles is prohibited, whether it takes place on public or private land or during markets (Articles L. 2352-1 et seq. And R. 2352- 97 et seq. Of the Defense Code);
• the importation from any EU country or outside the EU, including by post, of fireworks and pyrotechnic articles is subject to customs authorization known as the authorization to import explosive products (ministerial decree of January 19, 2018 ). In the absence of such an authorization, any offender is liable to the immediate seizure of goods introduced by customs officers, police or gendarmes as well as to a fine.
