Morawiecki: we will react “creatively” to the attempted blackmail with the National Reconstruction Plan

“Poland submitted the National Reconstruction Plan on time, it was technically approved also on time. We now expect that, according to the regulations that the (European) Commission has developed itself, it will be adopted”

– Morawiecki said on TVP Info.

“If an attempt at financial blackmail is used against Poland, we will try to react creatively and very flexibly so that individual projects do not suffer”

– said the head of the Polish government.

As he added, “Realizing that we have more than friends in Brussels,” the government launched the “great investment program of the Polish Deal”.

“Virtually all local governments are well aware of this, as they have submitted nearly 8,000 applications, and this program is not related to EU funding.”

– the prime minister pointed out.

According to Morawiecki, this shows “how much the Polish economy has grown in recent years”. “Today, Poland can afford to implement very ambitious infrastructure projects in the field of health care, education, digitization and other from our national budgetary funds” – he emphasized.

Today, the Prime Minister took part in the debate “The crisis of the rule of law in Poland and the primacy of EU law”, organized in the European Parliament in Strasbourg in connection with the judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal of October 7 on the superiority of the constitution over EU law. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, also participated in the debate. “The rule of law is the glue that binds our Union. We will not allow our common values to be violated. The Commission will act. The options are known to everyone. The first option is infringement proceedings, where we will legally challenge the judgment of the Constitutional Court. Another option. it is a conditionality mechanism and other financial tools, warned the head of the European Commission.

The adoption of the plan by the National Reconstruction Plan Committee is necessary for Poland to receive money from the Reconstruction Fund. Poland is to have around EUR 58 billion at its disposal.
