Atletico Madrid win a landslide victory over Juventus in pre-season. Alvaro Morata became the star of Atletico’s victory after contributing three goals.
Juventus host Atletico at Continassa on Sunday (7/8/2022). Morata scored his first two goals before half-time, before packing his hat-trick in the second half. Substitute Matheus Cunha then scored against Juventus in injury time.
Atletico surprised Juventus after opening the scoring in the tenth minute. Joao Felix dribbled from back to front, then thrust the ball into the penalty box which freed Alvaro Morata.

The latter directly faced Juventus goalkeeper Wojiech Szczesny and easily slotted the ball into the net. Atlético lead 1-0.
Atletico were then awarded a penalty after Alex Sandro had a hand ball. Joao Felix stepped up as the executioner, but failed to convert the penalty into a goal after his shot was saved in the 40th minute.
Superiority Atletico it finally really adds up three minutes later. Morata again defeated his former club by scoring the second goal to make it 2-0.
Starting with a throw-in, Morata beat the guard of an opposing player. Morata then swept down the right flank, stabbed into the box and rounded Gleison Bremer before finishing with a left-footed shot that pierced the Juventus goal.
After the restart, Atlético was still fierce. Atletico now beat Juventus 3-0 in the 62nd minute. Morata scored a hat-trick.
Morata’s third goal came from a set-piece situation. Thomas Lemar released a free kick in front of the Atletico goal, Morata thinly headed the ball before it nestled in the Juventus goal.
Atletico complete 4-0 win over Juventus by creating the fourth goal in injury time. It was the turn of substitute Matheus Cunha, who listed his name on the scoreboard.
Atlético Madrid’s final goal started with a Geoffrey Kondogbia set-piece sending a pass which was accepted by Matheus Cunha before being finished with an easy flick.
