Morán and Zayas knock out on boxing night in Florida

The Mexican Antonio ‘Toño’ Morán knocked out his compatriot in six episodes Luis ‘Muecas’ Solís in the main event of All Star Boxing in Kissimmee, Florida, to win the Welter Fedecentro championship endorsed by the World Boxing Association, in an evening in which the young Puerto Rican looked very good Xander Zayas.

Morán sent Solís to the canvas in the sixth with a tremendous hook to the liver, leaving him basically without response, for which the effective knockout was decreed for the capital against the Yucatecan, who from a couple of previous rounds had already resented the effective strategy enemy, mainly with the left jab and strong combinations to the soft zones.

Morán thus returned to the triumphal path after his last duels had not given him things, falling last year to Devin Haney with an electrifying knockout and then with a controversial draw against the undefeated Yomar Alamo. Toño improved to 25-4-1 with 18 knockouts, while Solís received his second knockout in a row and left his mark at 25-11-4 and 21 knockouts.

In the special attraction of the night, Puerto Rican Xander Zayas looked like a real thunderbolt when he stopped American Orlando Salgado in just one episode, in a battle agreed in the Weltersweight division. Zayas, who turns 18 this Saturday, showed great speed and arsenal of fists to put his rival in poor condition from the start.

Zayas improved his professional record now to 5-0 with 4 knockouts after his second appearance this year, while Salgado lost undefeated and left his mark at 1-1 with a knockout in his favor. Xander became the youngest fighter to have signed with the promotion company Top Rank a few months ago.

For his part, in his professional debut, Anthony Olascuaga knocked out Edwin Reyes, and so did Nikoloz Sekhniasvilli over Alexis Gaytán at the start of Félix ‘Tutico’ Zabala’s role.
