The 43-year-old moped rider Wishwanand B. died on Sunday afternoon in a collision on the East-West connection in Suriname.
It is understood that the moped rider was driving on the East-West connection. Near Nisha Trading, he crashed into a pick-up, a Nissan Frontier of the Suriname Fire Brigade, which was standing still. He became unconscious after the collision.
When the authorities involved arrived at the scene, it turned out that the victim had already lost his life.
According to information obtained, it was raining at the time. The moped rider probably did not see the pick-up due to the rain and rammed it from behind.
The body of the victim is seized after coordination with the Surinamese Public Prosecution Service.
