The Memorial Wall will be a permanent addition to the Korean War Veterans Memorial. It will include the names of the 36,574 American soldiers and more than 7,200 members of the Korean Augmentation Troops to the United States Army (KATUSA) who lost their lives defending the South Korean people during the war, according to the National Park Service and the Foundation of the United States. Construction of the granite wall, one meter high and 50 meters wide, will be completed in June 2022. The South Korean government has offered $ 23.6 million to facilitate the creation of what will become a new symbol of alliance, said Cheong Wa Dae.
