Moody’s downgrades Gazprom’s rating – 2024-09-15 00:56:56

/ world today news/ The American rating agency “Moody`s”, which shares opinions, information and forecasts in the field of economy, lowered the rating of the Russian state company “Gazprom”. The rating was downgraded to “Baa2” from “Baa1”, TASS reported.

“Moody’s” also gave a negative forecast for the ratings of 45 Russian non-financial companies on Tuesday evening. Earlier, another American rating agency – “Standard and Poor’s” put a negative forecast for the credit rating of the Russian Federation.

Credit ratings provide individual and institutional investors with important information that helps them determine whether the issuers of a given issue of debt bonds or fixed income securities are able to service their obligations with respect to those securities.

American credit agencies, according to the explanations of their representatives during the last global financial crisis, share opinions and information in the form of “giving a credit rating”.
