“The prosecution takes the affairs of domestic violence and all the more so the facts of violation of protection order. “Tuesday, October 20, 2020, a 41-year-old man was brought before the judge at the Bobigny court (Seine-Saint-Denis) while he had escaped protection order of his ex-wife. The protection order is an emergency measure put in place in case of danger.
Attempts to see her children at school
The facts occurred between September 5 and 23, 2020. Barely out of prison, after being convicted of domestic violence and then non-compliance for the first time with the protection order, the defendant was seen on September 23 in front of his daughter’s college in Montreuil, while she was outside in sports class.
However, since he was convicted of domestic violence, he is prohibited from entering the municipality in order to protect his ex-wife and children. “As soon as she saw you, she told her teacher who decided to bring them in. But you continued to follow her for eight minutes. All the way, she was trembling and she was afraid, ”reports the president of the court.
According to the testimony of the young girl, the man was not at his first attempt. A few days earlier, he allegedly tried to see his brother and sister in primary and nursery school. “But I miss the children, it had been a long time since I had seen them”, tries to justify the defendant who nevertheless claims “not to remember” the facts.
Telephone harassment
Attempts, which worry the prosecution all the more because they would be coupled with a phone harassment against his ex-wife. Since September 5, he would have multiplied the phone calls to insult his ex-wife.
“The telephone which was used for these calls is terminal all the time in Montreuil, near the home of your ex-wife and in particular between 11 pm and 1 am”, adds the president. “I don’t know this phone, it’s my brother-in-law’s. Maybe the children called without doing it on purpose, ”defends the accused.
“His ex-wife can’t take it anymore, she’s very, very scared. We must now protect them. Justice has tried everything and nothing has worked ”, pleads the prosecutor before requesting one year in prison. After deliberation, he was found guilty and sentenced to one year in prison with a committal warrant.
