The French Blood Establishment (EFS) asks donors to mobilize massively and come and donate blood, a precious and useful gift. It is important that the mobilization continues during the holidays because the patients always need transfusions. It’s essential ! In this period of pandemic the spirit of solidarity of citizens for their commitment to blood donation, at a time when the reserves of blood products were dwindling, has not failed. The EFS recalls: “That there is no risk of transmission of Covid 19 by transfusion and that all precautionary measures are implemented in all places of donation to avoid the risk of transmission of virus: wearing a mask compulsory for all, application of the rules of distancing and reinforced hygiene.
Donors are also asked not to come accompanied by a person who does not donate blood, wear the mask that will be given to them at the reception, respect a minimum distance between donors, respect the barrier gestures.
