Many fans were disappointed that the Montreal Canadiens did not claim forward Adam Ruzicka when the Calgary Flames placed him on waivers on January 24. Ultimately, it could be that Kent Hughes made the right decision.

A video of Ruzicka surfaced on social media on Friday where we see the man who was ultimately claimed by the Arizona Coyotes at a table, filming the various substances contained on the latter, including one having the appearance of cocaine .
A fourth-round pick by the Flames in 2017, Ruzicka played his first five full seasons in the Flames organization before being claimed by the Coyotes on January 25. In Arizona, he was held off the scoresheet in three games.

Early this afternoon, the Coyotes announced that they had placed Ruzicka on waivers in an effort to terminate his contract, adding that they would not comment on the subject.
The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Adam Ruzicka on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract. The Club will have no further comment at this time.

This is the second time in several months that the Arizona organization has found itself in a situation like this. In July, the Coyotes had to cut ties with Alex Galchenyuk after the latter was arrested and charged with hit-and-run, disorderly conduct, refusal to obey, resisting arrest, threatening and intimidation.
