Yesterday, the JDD published the list of the top 500 municipalities in this ranking constructed according to 183 criteria such as life expectancy, unemployment rate, security, health, education, concentration of shops and public services or the environment. How are our cities behaving?
Montpellier, Nîmes & Toulouse in the TOP 50
The results of this list will obviously not be unanimous. Especially in the cities at the bottom of this ranking. Alès 492nd, Béziers, 204th or Sète and Narbonne which are in 180th and 127th places and who could imagine themselves higher in the ranking. This is the case with Perpignan, 58th, just behind Paris and Lyon. And several of our big cities are in the Top 50. Nîmes 46th, Montpellier 37th, Toulouse is at the 29th place. The prize goes to Avignon, ranked 9th on this list dominated by Annecy, gold medal for French cities where life is good, ahead of Bayonne and Angers.
