Guadeloupe and the sportsmen of the Herault are in mourning: Jamaïne carlotti died on Saturday around 5.15 p.m., during the head-on collision in which RD 612, in Frontignan. She was 21. The Trois-Riviérienne was one of the great hopes of the windsurf Guadeloupe, with an exceptional track record, which the best riders envied him.
Sacred champion of France last October, after having been World Champion in 2019, Jamaïne Carlotti considered a true queen of the seas, had joined in September 2018, the CREPS – Center for resources, expertise and sports performance- of Montpellier, where she rubbed shoulders with the greatest sportsmen evolving in many disciplines, such as Kevin Mayer. The sailing star, renowned for being warm and sparkling, had been adopted straight away.
Jamaïne Charlotte remained very attached to Guadeloupe, where she had recently stayed. She had returned to the Hérault last week. The announcement of his death was revealed this Sunday on the Windsurf Guadeloupe Facebook page.
Police investigation
A police investigation carried out by the Sète-Frontignan police station is underway to determine the cause of this fatal accident. On this murderous section of the RD 612, between the bridge leading to the Frontignan stadium and the fixed speed camera, there are no more accidents. Saturday, just two hours after the tragedy in which Jamaïne Carlotti perished, a second traffic accident resulted in the closure of the RD 612 in both directions.
