During the week of the ATP tournament which took place at the Montpellier Arena, the club organized a day outing. No less than thirty children and twenty licensed adults were able to participate. An unforgettable day with departure of the bus from Castelnaudary at 8 a.m., arrival in Montpellier around 11:30 a.m. then a picnic in the Arena hall. Then everyone was able to participate in activities (radar, pickleball, skill games on inflatable structures, etc.), photos and autographs with professional players and of course see tennis matches. A busy day, the return to Castelnaudary took place with a very good atmosphere on the bus, children with stars in their eyes. Thank you to the educators who supervised the young people very seriously.
Weekend results
On Saturday, the 15/18 year old girls and boys teams played in the semi-finals of the second division Aude championship.
The girls were traveling to Port-la-Nouvelle. In doubles Juliet Zandvliet and Maëva Chancrogne lost 4/6 and 6/7. In singles, Juliet lost 2/6 and 6/7 and Maëva 0/6 and 2/6. Result 3/0 for the local team.
The boys were going to Gruissan. In doubles, David Tofan and Mathieu Grillères lost after a match hung 4/6, 7/6 and 8/10 in the super decisive game. In singles, Achille Rouzaud lost against a player better ranked than him and David lost in three sets 3/6, 6/4 and 6/7.
Good recovery to Maëva who has problems with a shoulder.
For senior men, teams 1 and 2 are qualified for the quarter-finals which will take place on February 25, 2024. Team 2 will challenge Tuchan and team 1 will host Port-la-Nouvelle.
