Montpellier. First: a bi-degree in “Economics and Political Science”

Last Friday, Philippe Augé, the president of theA, inaugurated in the company of Guylain Clamour (Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science) and François Mirabel (Dean of the Faculty of Economics) first bi-license “Economics & Political Science” offered by the local university.

Multidisciplinary training

It is even a training and a unique diploma in France, according to Philippe Augé. The Montpellier university president describes “a resolutely multidisciplinary training of excellence which is one of the main educational innovations of the University of Montpellier”.

Why this new diploma? “Pace that this dual-license must make it possible to meet the requirements of new promising professions”, affirms the president, referring to a science and eco-science training program intended for the fields of the environment, energy, aid to decision-making, development projects or even transnational governance and the regulation of complex societies.

From economics to social sciences

“It will be a question of training executives who, having skills in the fields of economics, political science and more generally social sciences and national and international institutions, will be able to occupy positions with responsibilities in the public sector. and private, in France or internationally, ”he emphasizes.

A great bi-disciplinary oral
At the practical level, the students follow the fundamental lessons of the two bachelor’s degrees in economics (Richter site) and political science (site of the Faculty of Law and Political Science). The validation of the training supposes the passage of a large bi-disciplinary oral test attesting to the contributions of the two disciplines for the analysis of the situation of the contemporary world.
