The President of the Republic chose Montpellier to illustrate the results of its policy in terms of security, implemented by the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, also present during a planned trip this Monday March 19.
At the end of the morning, at 11 a.m., the two executives will first go to the central police station of Montpellier, where they will discuss “the means given to the police to accomplish their mission in the service of the population”, explains the Elysee, this Saturday by way of press release.
Social workers
They will then go to the north of Montpellier, in the district of La Paillade, where they will visit the premises of the CAF social center, Ile aux Familles, to discuss with social workers on the prevention of delinquency and observe the work of these actors in order to promote the police-population link.
The President of the Republic, who has already visited Montpellier, on the occasion of summits organized at the Corum, had planned to return to the Languedoc capital in the fall of 2020 to discuss themes linked to Culture and the Education. This visit, postponed at first, was finally canceled.
