Montpellier Club Signs Jordanian International Striker Musa Al-Taamari and Swiss Defender Bashir Omarjesh for 2023-2024 Season

Montpellier club, which ranks twelfth in the French Football League, announced its contract with Jordanian international striker Musa Al-Taamari.

Montpellier wrote on its official website, “An agreement has been reached for the arrival of the promising Swiss international defender Bashir Omarjesh and the Jordanian international winger Musa Al-Taamari.”

The club, which won the French League title once in 2012, added that they are coming from Swiss FC Zurich and Belgian Louvain, respectively, and will join Montpellier for the 2023-2024 season, without indicating the value and duration of the two deals.

Al-Taamari, who will celebrate his twenty-sixth birthday on the tenth of next June, started his football career with the youth of Jordan in 2016 and remained in its ranks until the summer of 2018, knowing that the youth of Jordan loaned him the 2017-2018 season to his compatriot Al-Jazira and crowned him as a champion in the local cup competition and finished with him as runner-up. league.

In the summer of 2018, he moved to APOEL, Cyprus, and played with him until the summer of 2020, crowning him with the league title in 2019. He achieved great success with him and high scoring rates (13 goals in 74 matches), before signing a three-year contract with Louvain that ends next summer.

Al-Taamari, who was likened to the Egyptian international Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, with his rapid breakthroughs on the wing and his individual skills, was on his way to joining French Nantes during the winter transfers at the beginning of this year.

Al-Taamari had a good and convincing season with Louvain, where he scored six goals with six assists in 34 games and finished ninth with 48 points.

Al-Taamari is considered one of the main pillars of the Jordanian national team.

For his part, 21-year-old Omarjesh of Bosnian origin has experience playing for five seasons in the Swiss league with FC Zurich, with whom he won the league title last year. The young defender has played 19 matches this season.

He has won four caps with the Swiss national team since 2020.
