Montpellier: Beginning of mandate for the Municipal Children’s Council


The general assembly at the start of the mandate of the Municipal Council for Children (CME) of the City of Montpellier, took place on Wednesday, January 20.

On this occasion, the 64 young members of the City Council presented, to elected municipal officials and to City services, the ideas and projects they wish to carry during their mandate.

The young people elected are all CM1 / CM2 or CM2 students. They are educated in one of the sixteen schools in the city (Charles Dickens, Jean Jaurès, Jacques Brel, Heidelberg, Léopold Sedar Senghor, Spinoza, Germaine Richier, Calandreta Dau Clapas, Jean Zay, Marie Curie, Langevin, Mermoz Diderot, Simon Bolivar, Garibaldi, Victor Hugo – Paul Bert).

The meeting was held in the presence of Fanny Dombre-Coste, First Deputy Mayor, delegate for the Educational City and School Success, Marie Massart, Deputy Mayor, delegate for Food Policy and Urban Agriculture and Séverine Saint-Martin, Deputy Mayor, delegate for Renewal democracy and social innovation.
