Montpellier: as Virginie Lecaudey explains, “well-being at work pays off economically”

The entrepreneur runs MSB (1), a company that offers original solutions to combat suffering and tiredness at work.

What is the genesis of the creation of your company?

We launched MSB in 2018, with my partner and husband, Yann Pierron. In view of the high number of people who experience pain at work, we have decided to offer effective solutions to combat stress and fatigue at work. The latest data tell us that 44% of workers suffer from mental illness. This rises to 52% for nurses and 64% for people working in HR services. For managers, let’s go to 40%.

Faced with this situation, what do you propose?

A preventive and curative offer aimed at both individuals and businesses. To do this, we aim to promote the quality of life in the professional environment, because in addition to being beneficial for everyone’s well-being, it is economically advantageous. For this we have created a unique structure in France. Let me explain: usually companies go through online platforms that connect them with therapists. We are already in place, planted in the midst of the companies of the Millennium. We have a real assistance platform on which twelve qualified professionals specializing in brief therapies and alternative medicine work.

Describe your means of action…

We operate on two levels. First of all within the companies themselves, with the help of management and HR functions. It is important to do preventative work on employee suffering in their work environment. For employees, we offer a real link to the therapy platform I just told you about. In my opinion, it is important to “take out” suffering people from their work environment, for the duration of a therapeutic action, even a short one. This allows you to break out of the hellish cycle of sick leave and taking medications. But to have results, there must be a dynamic of the worker, but also of the employer. It is our job to clarify this and help him implement it.

What are the causes of this suffering?

If we talk about the causes, we can simply say that they come from an imbalance. What exists between the aspirations of the person, as an employee, and the reality of his working conditions. In this registry, it is often the busiest people who are most affected. Also, because they are motivated, management often tends to ask them for more. There is also a problem of recognition in companies and inadequate management. The people I have just described suffer from it more than others.

What do you mean by bad management?

Often it is an accumulation of things. I think of the accumulation of assignments, the avalanche of emails, the meeting, the lack of meaning in the work and, as I said, the lack of recognition.

How does this suffering manifest itself? When does it become pathological?

There is a whole symptomatic both physical and emotional. They range from irritability to aggression through insomnia and back and headaches. If all these signs persist over time, we move on to pathology.

How to exit?

Call our services (smile) and understand that living well at work is something that can be built and that is beneficial for everyone. Employers as employees.
