Montluçon Mayor Expresses Concern for City Amidst Urban Riots

It’s a phrase he’s been repeating for the past few hours. “I feel bad for my city”. The mayor of Montluçon Frédéric Laporte went there, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, when incidents began to break out in the city of Gozet, in connection with the urban riots of the last days, throughout France.

The first city councilor was targeted by mortar fire as he tried to chat with the young people, sometimes hooded, who had started their destructive trip. One of the chosen ones who accompanied him was hit in the head by throwing stones. He had to be taken to the hospital.

Live, this morning, in our first edition, Frédéric Laporte was still stunned. “We have passed an important milestone,” he analyzed.

Eight people were arrested during these incidents. The eight police custody were to be extended overnight. We should know more today about the upcoming legal proceedings, with the possibility of immediate appearances in the coming hours.

Listen again to the entire intervention of the mayor of Montluçon, this morning, on our antenna.
