Montluçon: an investment plan for the renovation of heritage – RJFM Hits & News – Montluçon Allier Auvergne

December 16, 2021

The City of Montluçon is counting on the renovation of its heritage. This is one of the key elements to take away from the debate on budgetary orientations which was held last night at the Town hall. A thAverage budget of 9.5 million euros invested each year until 2026.

The objective is to launch several large-scale projects on remarkable buildings in the city. 5.3 million euros for the development of the castle of the Dukes of Bourbon, 3 million for the castle of Louvière or 2.7 million for the enhancement of the Town Hall.

Mayor Frédéric Laporte justified this choice to invest in heritage last night.

In addition to these investments in heritage, an envelope of 6.1 million euros is planned for work on bridges and footbridges, 5.2 also for a multi-year road renovation program. All this will be done in 2022 without an increase in tax rates, with a “control of operating expenses”.

For the elected Communist Philippe Denizot, there were other priorities, in the context. Sylvie Sartirano for Montluçon from tomorrow regretted the absence of a greening program for the city.
