Yvon Mvogo misses World Cup in Qatar due to injury. It could be even worse for the Swiss goalkeeper.
“I am terribly disappointed and frustrated with this injury. To my deepest regret, I will unfortunately miss the World Cup,” Yvon Mvogo said last week as it became clear the Lorient goalkeeper would miss the World Cup. Mvogo was injured in an unfortunate move against PSG’s star ensemble (see video above).
Lorient coach Régis Le Bris told a press conference on Friday that Mvogo would be out for four to six months. The former YB goalkeeper injured his quadriceps tendon, which connects the main thigh muscle to the kneecap, and underwent surgery on Wednesday.
The operation went well. It will be several months before the 28-year-old goalkeeper is ready to play again. So Lorient will no longer be able to count on Mvogo before March. The goalkeeper may not be used at all this season.
