monthly temperature records broken this Tuesday

The sun shone across France on Tuesday, causing heat records for the month of March in many cities.

Spring has barely set in when France is already experiencing a very mild first episode. Several monthly temperature records were broken on Tuesday, especially in the North and North-West, Météo-France indicates.

24.9 ° C were recorded in Orly, in the Val-de-Marne, thus beating the record of 24.5 ° C in 1955. In Lille (North), it was 23.6 ° C against 22.7 ° C in 1968. In Cap-Ferret (Gironde), near Bordeaux, the thermostat climbed to 26.9 ° C. We have to go back to 2005 to find a heat comparable to this same period. We also noted 23.8 ° C in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), 24.2 ° C in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), 25.6 ° C in Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Savoie) or even 24, 5 ° C in Pontarlier (Doubs).

Other records expected this Wednesday

“More than 200 stations broke their heat records for a month of March on Tuesday,” notes Guillaume Séchet, meteorologist for BFMTV. And according to him “other records will fall” probably this Wednesday.

The day should indeed be hot and sunny again across the country, according to Météo-France forecasts. In the afternoon, temperatures of 16 to 22 ° C are expected on the shores of the Channel and the Mediterranean, 21 to 26 elsewhere, up to 28 ° C in New Aquitaine.
