Monterrey manages to get its classification back on track by beating Comunicaciones on its visit to Guatemala, practically leaving the second leg as a simple procedure.
The Mexican team managed to deploy all its offensive power and managed to beat a Communications team 1-4 that managed to keep up the pace for 45 minutes. The second leg will be played at the BBVA stadium next Thursday, February 15 at 9:15 p.m.

Glorious minutes
Communications came out with everything to win and little to lose against the Mexican giant. During the first minutes, the Guatemalans gave the ball to their rival, although Monterrey was unable to capture its dominance on the scoreboard.
As the minutes passed, the creams grew and began to disrespect their rival on the field of play. At specific moments the goalkeeper of the Rayados was a key piece for the tie to prevail on the scoreboard.
In a new attack on the right wing, Monterrey managed to take the lead on the scoreboard thanks to a solid header from Germán Berterame that managed to beat Freddy Pérez in the 22nd minute.
Without being clearly dominant in the game, the Mexicans managed to get ahead on the scoreboard. Without time to regret, Communications would manage to equalize the score.
With a great cross from Stheven Robles in the 29th minute, Carlos el Cuilapa Mejía would manage to beat Andrada to turn the Doroteo Guamuch Flores stadium into a cauldron.
The first half would end with a 1-1 tie, leaving a great version of Comunicaciones against a sober face from Monterrey in Guatemala City.

Scratched machinery
During the second half, Monterrey ended the dream of Comunicaciones. With two goals in 20 minutes, the Mexican team practically managed to sentence the Guatemalans.
Arturo González in the 52nd minute and Jesús Gallardo in the 72nd minute completely tipped the balance in favor of the five-time Concacaf Champions Cup champion.
