Montería’s ‘All to the U’ Program Provides Higher Education Opportunities for Low-Income Youth

Montería November 3, 2023. In order to guarantee higher education for low-income young people in the city, the Education Secretariat of the Mayor’s Office of Montería develops the ‘All to the U’ program in agreement with university corporations and institutes in the capital of Córdoba.

This program, from which 736 students currently benefit and which has an investment from the Government of the People for $506,013,275, consists of a scholarship of 60% of the value of each semester, in which the municipal administration contributes 30% and the educational entity the remaining 30%.

One of the entities is the Educational Corporation of Córdoba, where they are very grateful, because thanks to this project, several technicians have graduated and many young people have also accessed higher education. The entity has graduated students in programs such as Nursing Assistant; pharmaceutical services; Health administrative, accounting and financial; Fashion design, among others.

According to Gregoria Blanquicet, program support professional, in the last four years 3,019 students have benefited. Since the creation of ‘All to the U’, in 2017, the benefit reached a total of 5,174 students. In this administration, an average of 3 thousand students have graduated.

Yuliana Tordecilla, a graduate of the program, said: “I am very grateful, first of all, to God and to the program, since today I can say that I am a fashion designer.” In turn, Susana Ramos, a nursing assistant student, also thanked the program since in the future she will have better job opportunities, and called on young people to learn about the benefits of the program on the page of the Ministry of Education of Montería .
