Montceau – Laurent Selvez puts oil on the fire

They both hold a nagging resentment. At the last municipal council of January 13 in Montceau-les-Mines, William Dumont, director general of services (DGS) who joined the town of Gradignan in Gironde, recalled the good memory of Laurent Selvez who had him, according to the statements of the DGS, disrespectful in a post on Facebook. It was in 2015.

A message on Facebook which indicated the establishment of the DGS house which caused a lot of upheaval in his private life which, in the end, will move.

In his right of reply to which he has attached extracts from the report of the regional chamber of the Court of Auditors (read below), Laurent Selvez, (opposition, Montceau 2020 La Gauche Unie) takes advantage of it _ just to drive the point home _ to recall the circumstances and, above all, the way in which the city at that time and its mayor, Marie-Claude Jarrot, committed irregularities on the hotel costs of the DGS, the rental of his house and its mileage costs as revealed by the regional chamber of the Court of Auditors in its report in October 2017.

In addition to the words of the DGS, it is especially the disagreement between Laurent Selvez and Marie-Claude Jarrot that continues. It has just reached its climax at the start of a new term of office. The discord is deep.

More than 6 hours of municipal council Wednesday, here we are in the extension.

STATEMENT BY THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF SERVICES – RIGHT OF REPLY

Laurent SELVEZ – January 17, 2021.

At the end of the municipal council on Wednesday, where the majority had no other objectives than to spoil the debates with personal attacks targeting the opposition and its main official, the Director General of Services legitimately spoke to announce his departure from Montceau-les-Mines.

During this intervention, our DGS, undoubtedly inspired by the first magistrate of our city, disregarding his obligation of professional discretion, disregarding his imperative of neutrality and exceeding his duty of reserve, considered it useful to return to an article published by elected officials. opposition on Facebook in 2015, and who “would have put his family in difficulty”.

These words are purely slanderous, and it seems important to me to recall the facts:

The Director General of Services took up his duties on 1is December 2014. He was accommodated at the city’s expense in a hotel in Montcellor from November 30, 2014 until April 16, 2015, for an amount of € 10,940.50.

Then a 180 m² official house was made available to it by the city, which provided the rent (1,100 € / month) and consumption (excluding water).

We have, it is true, denounced this attribution which seemed excessive and amoral to us, taken outside any legality and without informing the municipal council.

The regional chamber of accounts in its report of October 2017, proved us right, condemning unreservedly these decisions, asking the person to reimburse the sums in question.

I find it curious that our Director General of Services recalls these inglorious facts, and for which he shares sole responsibility with the Mayor, the day before his departure. I condemn these remarks, as I condemn the attitude of Ms. Jarrot during this municipal council refusing to answer questions by alternating lies, untruths, particularly aggressive personal attacks against her opposition.

These attacks from another era are only intended to silence the opposition and with them the Montcellians who have expressed their disagreement with the policy pursued since 2014. The opposition and all the teams around us, no ‘have neither the intention to give in, nor to give up in the face of this sad spectacle played by Ms. Jarrot and certain members of her team.

The current situation in our country, the daily difficulties experienced by our fellow citizens, and the financial impasse in which our city finds itself, must mobilize all our energy.

Faithful to our commitments and our values, attached to our city, to Montcelliennes and Montcelliens, we will continue to defend the collective interest, to work for the future of our city and … to condemn the behavior of Ms. Jarrot and her majority when they are unworthy.
